16
Q

What is Ipsilateral?

A

The organs are on the same side

17
Q

What is Contralateral?

A

The organs are on the opposite side

18
Q

What is Proximal?

A

Nearest. ex: the elbow is proximal to the wrist

19
Q

What is Distal?

A

The opposite of proximal. The particular body part is farther from another specified point of reference than another part. ex: The fingers are distal to the wrist.

20
Q

What is Deep?

A

Far from the body surface or toward the inerior of the body. ex: the dermis is the deep layer of the skin.

21
Q

What is Superficial?

A

Close to the surface of the body. ex: the epidermis is the superficial layer of the skin

22
Q

What is Peripheral?

A

Outward or near the surface. ex: the nerves that branch from the brain and spinal cord are peripheral nerves.
