What is the function of Vitamin B?
Vitamin B is needed for a healthy nervous system, growth and it is needed to release energy from food.
What is the classification of vitamins?
Water soluble (dissolves in water) - Vitamins B & C. Fat soluble (dissolves in fat) - Vitamins A, D, E & K.
Where can you get Vitamin B?
You can get it from meat, fish, cheese, eggs.
What is the deficiency disease from lacking in Vitamin B?
Beri-beri, pellagra and increased risk of neural tube defects in babies.
What is the function of Vitamin C?
Vitamin C is needed for good general health, for healthy skin and gums. Needed to help absorb iron. It helps connective tissue, which help the healing of wounds.
Where can you get Vitamin C?
It comes from fresh fruit & vegetables.
What is the deficiency disease when lacking in Vitamin C?
You could get scurvy, anaemia and delayed healing of wounds.
What is scurvy?
Scurvy was a disease commonly found among sailors who ate mainly meat and crackers. The sailors rarely had fresh fruit and vegetables.
What is the RDA for Vitamin C?
The RDA for Vitamin C is 50-60 grams per day.

Vitamin D works with calcium to make strong bones and teeth.
