- Poor vision in dim light
- Maybe night blindness
- Drying up of the cornea and skin
- Easy infection of the lining of the lungs and trachea
What are the functions of vitamin A?
- Needed for the formation of a pigment in the retina (necessary for vision in dim light)
- Keeping cornea, skin, lining of the alimentary canal and breathing system healthy
Where can vitamin D be found in?
- Produced by the skin under sunlight
- Fatty fish, fish liver oils, liver, egg yolk
What are the functions of vitamin C?
- Growth and repair of connective tissues
- Needed for healing wound
- Absorption of iron
- Helps immune system
Where can vitamin A be found in?
Fish liver oils, liver, eggs, milk, dairy products

What are the functions of vitamin D?
- Absorption of calcium and phosphate
- Keep bones and teeth strong
What does the deficiency of vitamin D leads to?
Rickets(children)
What does the deficiency of vitamin C lead to?
Scurvy
What are the symptoms of scurvy?
- Weak and bleeding gums
- Poor healing of wounds
- Small red spots on the skin
- Joint pain
