Vision 2 Flashcards
What two tests may be used to test visual fields?
Testing by confrontation or automated perimetry
Describe the translation of objects onto your retina
Upside down and inverted
What muscle is responsible for concentrating on near objects?
Ciliaris
What are the two types of eye muscle?
Intrinsic and extrinsic
What are the function of intrinsic eye muscles?
Controls pupil diameter and helps alter curvature of the eye to enable us to see near objects
What is the function of extrinsic muscles?
Movement of the eye
Where is the ciliaris muscle located?
In the ciliary body
What innervates the ciliaris muscle?
CN III (Parasympathetic fibres)
What two muscles control the diameter of the pupil aperture?
Constrictor pupilae and dilator pupilae
Where is the CP muscle located?
At the pupillary border
What is the innervation of the CP muscle?
CN III (Parasympathetic fibres)
Where is the DP muscle located?
Radially running in the iris
What is the innervation of the DP muscle?
Innervated by sympathetic fibres from plexus around blood vessels
Name the extrinsic muscles of the eye
- SR
- IR
- MR
- LR
- SO
- IO
Where do the rectify muscles arise from?
Arise from the apex of the orbit and form a fibrous ring
