Ventricle system Flashcards
1
Q
where is CSF produced
A
CSF is Produced by the choroid plexus
Circulates through the ventricles of the brain, the central canal of the spinal cord and the subarachnoid space
2
Q
describe the ventricles
A
2 Lateral
Third in b/w the R & L thalamus
Forth in b/w the pons and cerebellum
3
Q
what is the interventricular foremen
A
between the lateral ventricle and third ventricle
4
Q
what is the cerebral aqueduct
A
allows for cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to flow between the third ventricle and the fourth ventricle
5
Q
where does the CSF drainage/resorption of CSF
A
resorbed into venous system via dural venous sinuses – arachnoid granulations
6
Q
describe the pathway for the CSF
A
- Lateral ventricle
- interventricular foremen
- third ventricle
- aqueduct od sylvius
- apertures
- subarachnoid space
- arachnoid villi
- superior sagittal sinus
