Cerebellum Flashcards
What are the 3 lobes of the cerebellum
Anterior lobe
Posterior lobe
Flocculonodular lobe
what are the 3 Major Cerebellar peduncle
- Superior cerebellar peduncle
(efferent info) - Middle cerebellar peduncle (allows it to pass)
- Inferior cerebellar peduncl (afferent)
what are the fissures of the cerebellum
3 functional divisions of the cerebellum
cerebrocerebellum
spinocerebellum
vestibulocerebellum
What happens in the cerebrocerebellum / lateral
Input: from cerebral cortex + pontine nucleus
= muscle activation/ planning
nuclei: DENTATE
What happens in the spinocerebellum / vermis + intermeidate
input: proprioceptive info
= regulating body movements
nuclei:
limb = interposed nucleus (vermis)
Postural = fastigial and vestibular nucleus (intermediate)
what happens in the Vestibulocerebellum/flocculonodular lobe
input: vestibular system
= balance, relaxs
nuclei: vestibular nuclei
what are the nuclei of the cerebellum
Medial to lateral
1. Fastigial
2. globose (interpositus)
3. emboliform (interpositus)9
4. dentate
blood supply of the cerebellum
Superior cerebellar art. (SCA)
Anterior inferior cerebellar art. (AICA)
Posterior inferior cerebellar art. (PICA)
Basilar art.
Pontine art.
