Ventilation and Compliance Flashcards

1
Q

What is the TV and what does it measure?

Q

Why do we have surfactant?

A

Air inside alveoli is saturated (max water content)
Droplets like to stick together (rain on window)
This causes inward pressure.
Surfactant reduces this by getting in the way
