Ventilation Flashcards
Ventilation systems provide ventilation for?
Lavatories
Galleys
Aircraft Batteries
Avionics
Fed or aft cargo compartment
What is the AEVC?
Avionics equipment ventilation computer/controller.
It provides commands to fans and valves for avionics cooling.
As long as power is on aircraft these fans operate continuously
It cools
-flight deck panels
- avionics bays
- CB panels
Ventilation system is monitored on
CAB PRESS page
Cargo heating and ventilation are controlled by?
Status is on what page?
Cargo heating controller
Cargo ventilation controller
Controlled by overhead cargo heat panel
COND or
CRUISE page
Lava and Galleys are ventilated using
Cabin air by an extraction fan that vents it over board through the outflow valve.
This fan runs continuously with electrical power on Aircraft
Ventilation for batteries is done by a?
Venturi using ambient air
Inlet valve and Extract valves of the AEVC are located
These valves are monitored?
Inlet-On the left forward fuselage.
Extract-right forward fuselage
On the CABIN PRESS page
Skin Heat exchanger is a primary component of the avionics ventilation system. How does it work?
Air is cooled by being moved through aircraft skin between 2 ribs. It is controlled by a SKIN EXCHANGE ISOL VALVE
When SKIN EXCHANGE ISOL VALVE is open it also provides heating to?
Forward cargo compartment. Eventually expelling through outflow valve
On ground AEVC is in the Open configuration.
In flight or on ground if it is cold AEVC is in closed configuration.
Open configuration (inlet/extract valves open) (skin exch ISOL valve closed) is never used in flight.
Closed configuration (inlet/extract closed skin exch isol valve open)(valve to forward cargo compartment open)
Intermediate configuration after takeoff thrust (inlet closed/extract partially open/ skin exch valve open/cargo open) very similar to closed.
This is found on CABIN PRESS page
If AEVC senses smoke
Avionics smoke caution is generated.
Airconditioner supplies air to system this doesn’t happen automatically. Must do the checklist.
FWD Cargo compartment is ventilated with?
Cabin air / inlet valve / extract fan / outlay valve / Venturi
If smoke detected valves close
Hot air helps to keep FWD cargo compartment warm
Info is displayed on the COND page
