Q

What is the AEVC?

A

Avionics equipment ventilation computer/controller.
It provides commands to fans and valves for avionics cooling.
As long as power is on aircraft these fans operate continuously

It cools
-flight deck panels
- avionics bays
- CB panels

Q

Lava and Galleys are ventilated using

A

Cabin air by an extraction fan that vents it over board through the outflow valve.

This fan runs continuously with electrical power on Aircraft

Q

Skin Heat exchanger is a primary component of the avionics ventilation system. How does it work?

A

Air is cooled by being moved through aircraft skin between 2 ribs. It is controlled by a SKIN EXCHANGE ISOL VALVE

Q

On ground AEVC is in the Open configuration.

In flight or on ground if it is cold AEVC is in closed configuration.

A

Open configuration (inlet/extract valves open) (skin exch ISOL valve closed) is never used in flight.

Closed configuration (inlet/extract closed skin exch isol valve open)(valve to forward cargo compartment open)

Intermediate configuration after takeoff thrust (inlet closed/extract partially open/ skin exch valve open/cargo open) very similar to closed.

This is found on CABIN PRESS page

Q

If AEVC senses smoke

A

Avionics smoke caution is generated.
Airconditioner supplies air to system this doesn’t happen automatically. Must do the checklist.

Q

FWD Cargo compartment is ventilated with?

A

Cabin air / inlet valve / extract fan / outlay valve / Venturi

If smoke detected valves close

Hot air helps to keep FWD cargo compartment warm

Info is displayed on the COND page
