UVEITIS Flashcards
History & Physical
Pain
Red eye
Photophobia
Decreased visual acuity
Watery discharge
Perilimbal flush
Pupils constricted, poorly reactive
Consensual pain (pain in affected eye when light is shone in the non affected eye)
Slit Lamp:
WBCs in anterior chamber
Flare
Hypopyon
IOP may be low due to decreased AH production
Management
Consult opthalmology with f/u in 24-48 hrs
Topical Steroid at the
direction of ophthalmologist
Prednisolone acetate 1% administer 1 drop in the affected eye every hour OR
Dexamethasone 0.1% administer drop in the affected eye every hour
Voltaren Opthalmologic Solution
1 drop qid
Cyclogyl (Cyclopentolate) 1%
1 drop tid
