Why don’t we prescribe steroids
Herpes
Cataracts
Ulceration
Globe rupture
Acute angle closure glaucoma
An 18 year old had red eye symptoms. What do you swab for
NAT for C+G

If someone has decreased acuity and temple pain what is your diagnosis, workup and management?
Giant cell arteritis
Get CRP/ESR
Biopsy artery or get ultrasound if less worried or can’t get biopsy
Treat with IV steroids
20% will still go blind
Tell them not to drive
What are 3 strategies to prevent eye problems
Wear goggles
Wear condoms
Wash your hands
