Q

Why is it not good if businesses avoid international trade?

A

Because the people of that country would not have access to cheap goods so the cost of living would be really high.
There also might he high unemployment because the country does not sell goods abroad so the market for their goods becomes limited, thus the economy doesn’t grow

Q

Why is globalisation bad for the environment

A

Utilitarians don’t consider the effects of mass production on the environment. Developing countries belt out pollutants which contribute to global warming while we dispose of the cheap goods they produce and create land fill

Q

Why is there a lack of clarity surrounding utilitarian approaches to globalisation

A

It is unclear which parts of a situation we should concern ourselves with. Should we see the situation from the perspective of employment and cheap goods or the climate effects which will be detrimental to the quality of life of future generations
