A

This is the proximal 1cm embedded in the uterine wall

A

The isthmus lies in the upper edge of the broad ligament (it is straight and narrow)

The ampulla dilates to become the infundibulum

A

The infundibulum opens up to become the fimbriated end of the the uterine tube

Describe the three layered structure of the uterine tube

A

The uterine tube is formed by two layers of visceral muscle (inner cicular, outer longitudinal), with mucous membrane thrown into folds, which increase towards the ampulla. The surface epithelium is a mixture of ciliated and non-ciliated columnar epithelium

A

The blood supply is via a tubal branch of the ovarian artery. The artery runs below the tube.
