Requires health insurance issuers and group health plans to adopt the same dollar limits for mental health (1996)
The Mental Health Parity Act (MHPA)
An amendment to the MHPA that requires plans offer both medical/surgical benefits and mental/substance abuse treatment equally (2008)
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA)
Created health insurance trading centers in each state. Signed by Obama (2010)
