Detrusor overactivy
Postmenopausal changes
Bladder neck obstruction ( overflow incontinence )
Congenital anomalies as patent urachus ect.
What’s mixed incontinence?
It means having overflow incontinence ( due to obstruction ) + neurogenic incontinence eg. ( 2ry to diabetic neuropathy)
Q- does Alpha-adrenergic blockers such as phentolamine works in mixed incontinence?
No, but it’s helpful in mild cases of stress incontinence
Q- How can you treat mixed incontinence?
1- control pelvis muscles ( biofeedback therapy + pelvic muscles exercises)
2-relax sphincter muscles to help urgency by anticholinergic drugs ( oxybutynin and propantheline )
3-bladder training, toilet assistance ( regular timing)
