What is the function of the urinary system?
Read the blood of voice products and toxic materials by filtering them out
Regulates the amount of fluid and salt in the body and maintains the balance
Excrete fluid waste from the body
What’s the function of of the kidneys?
Filters blood. Every hour, all the blood in the body passes through the kidneys twice.
What are changes that happen within urinary system with age?
Reduced muscle tone of urinary tract
reduction in the number of filtering units in the kidneys
Enlargement of the prostate gland in men
What is urinary incontinence?
Inability to control the emptying of one’s bladder.
What is urinary retention?
Incomplete emptying of the bladder
May be a result of decreased bladder tone
What is cystitis?
Inflammation of the lining of the urinary bladder yours usually caused by a urinary tract infection
A strong urgency , frequent voiding, burning sensation when voiding
What is oliguria?
Small amounts of urine less than 500 mL and 24 hours
What is dysuria?
Painful or difficult urination
What is hematuria?
Blood and urine
What is pyuria?
Abnormally large amounts of urine produced
What is dialysis?
The process of removing waste and excess water from blood
