What is the epidermis?
The epidermis is the outer later layer that contains no blood vessels
What is the dermis?
The dermis is the inner layer made up by connective tissue. It contains sweat, oil, glands, nerves, blood vessels, and hair roots.
What are the functions of the skin?
Protection sensation, maintain body temperature, manufacturer vitamin D.
Covers and protects body keeps body fluids. Eliminates waste through sweat produces oil to keep itself, lubricated, and happy healthy.
What are the skin appendages?
Hair. Nose ears eyes protects from dust. head,retains heat. skin goosebumps retain heat..
Nails protects tips of fingers and toes and help grip objects .
Sweat glands regulation .
Oil glands helps lubricate skin hair . Inhibits the growth of bacteria skin.
Changes with age
Wrinkles and sagging skin dryness, and cracking skin chills easy.
Causes of presser ulcers
Pressure moisture friction shearing forces.
Signs of pressure injuries/ulcer
Pale or gray skin or a warm red area look for signs of poor circulation
What are the stages of pressure ulcer?
Stage one the skin is red and it’s not the same natural colour
stage two the skin cracks, blisters or peels
stage threeThe skin is gone and underlying tissues are exposed and damaged
stage four muscle and bone are exposed and damaged.

What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes raised red patches with dry scaling skin. Most likely to occur on knees, elbow, scalp, and back. Stress may be a contributing factor.

What are shingles?
Shingles is a painful rash of raised blisters that can appear anywhere on the body, but usually on one side. Sites include the trunk buttocks and face. anyone who had chickenpox is at a risk of developing shingles.
What is dermatitis?
Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin caused by direct contact with an irritating or allergy, causing substance symptoms can include itching skin, redness, skin tenderness, swelling, or warmth of the exposed area.
What are lice scabies?
Life are tiny white insects that live on skin hair or clothing. They feed by biting the skin and sucking blood the bites itch and may cause an allergic reaction spread close contact.
Scabies are tiny mites that burrow under the skin and lay eggs. This may cause rash that itches intensely spread through close contact.
What is skin cancer?
