Phenazopyridine
A
- PO use only
- MOA: local anesthetic of mucosa of urinary tract, relives pain, burning, frequency/urgency secondary to cystitis
- Side effects/adverse reactions: red/orange urine, nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, hemolysis

Bethanechol
A
- Urinary stimulant
- Group: direct acting parasympthomimetic
- Indication: hypotonic bladder, urinary retention, neurogenic bladder
- MOA: increase tone of detrusor muscle
- Contraindication: peptic ulcer
- Side effects: GI distress, dizziness, fainting
- Must take on an empty stomach

Oxybutynin
A
- Urinary antispasmodic
- MOA: anticholinergic, relaxes detrusor muscle to relieve bladder spasms
- Indication: overactive bladder, neurogenic bladder
- Contraindication: glaucoma, prostate problems (BPH)
- Side effects: dry mouth, tachy, dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, constipation
