Bupropion
A
- PO antidepressant
- Indication: short-term withdraw & maintenance
- Side Effects: dry mouth & insomnia
- Avoid along with other CNS stimulants
- Avoid in pts with hx of seizure

Varenicline
A
- PO nicotine receptor partial agonist
- MOA: stimulates the pleasurable effects of nicotine (partially) blocking the full desired effect of nicotine
- Indication: short-term maintenance, prevents relapse (must be tapered off)
- Side Effects: HTN & hyperglycemia
- Adverse Effects: N/V, depression, suicidal ideation

PRN Nicotine
A
- OTC replacement (gum, lozenge, patch)
- Indication: short-term withdrawn & maintenance
- Avoid nicotine while on replacement therapy
- Avoid nicotine while pregnant/breastfeeding
- Lozenges/Gum: avoid eating/drinking 15 mins before dose or during
- Avoid >20 in 24hrs
- Patch: avoid using if skin reaction, avoid concurrent use with other nicotine products

Chlordiasepoxide
A
- For ETOH abuse
- MOA: CNS suppressant

Disulfiram
A
- For ETOH abuse
- PO daily
- MOA: drinking alcohol = “disulfiram like reaction” = facial flushing, N/V, tachy/palpitations, hypotension, weakness, may lead to cardiorespiratory collapse, seizure & death
