stratified columnar epithelium
What are the 3 parts to male urethra? what part is the most and least dilatable (narrow or wide?)
1) Prostatic urethra - widest and most dilatable
2) Membranous urethra - narrow and least dilatable
3) Penile urethra
What are the arterial supply for all 3 parts of urethra in males?
1) prostatic - inferior vesical artery (branch of interal iliac)
2) membranous - bulbourethral artery (branch of internal prudendal)
3) Penile - direct internal pudendal
Where is the urethra lymphatic drainage in male?
drain to obturator and internal iliac nodes.
Just the penile urethra drains to deep and superficial inguinal nodes
What is the mucous glands that lie on either sides of female urethra called?
Skene’s gland
Where is the arterial supply to female urethra from?
internal pudendal arteries
nerve supply in female urethra?
pudendal nerve
lymphatic drainage of female urethra? - proximal and distal
proximal - internal iliac nodes
distal urethra - superficial inguinal lymph nodes
