When do you use UQS or LQS

A
  • no history of trauma
  • (+) radicular signs
  • trauma with radicular signs
  • (+) altered sensation in the limb
  • there are spinal cord signs
  • the patient presents with abnormal patterns
  • there is suspected psychogenic pain

What does the UQS/LQS tell you

A
  • a rapid assessment of mobility and neurologic function of cervical spine or UE/LE
  • spinal joints and peripheral joints
  • nerve root or peripheral nerve
  • contractile, inert, end feel, capsular pattern

A
  • risk factors: age health, nutrition, ethnicity PMH
  • reason for referral or exam

Clues to screening, chest, breast or rib pain

A
  • hx of repetitive motion, overuse, prolonged activity
  • longterm use of steriods assault or trauma
  • hx of flu, UTI, shingles, recurrent penumonia, chronic bronchitis, emphysema
  • hx breast caner
  • hx of heart disease
  • prolonged use of cocaine or anabolic steriods
  • nocturnal pain, pain without movemetn aggravation or fails to respond to treatmetn
  • weight loss
  • recent childbirth
