- bowel dysfunction: stool (solid, round, long, brown), frequency (normal varies), difficulty

- reduced caliber/force or stream
- difficulty intiating
- incontience
- males could be prostate and females could be endometriosis etc
reproduction checklist

- urethral discharge
- sexual dysfunction
- pain during intercourse, ejaculation

- menstruation-frequency, duration, flow, dysmenorrhea

Thyroid palpation
- can be enlarged on one side and not the other
- should feel mushy, soft symmetrical and no nodules
- when swallowing it should move
- T3/T4 levels and calcitonin
- TSH can effect this
Hyperthyroidism
Signs and symptoms
- Sudden weight loss, even when your appetite and food you eat remains the same/increases
- rapid heartbeat/irregular heartbeat/palpitations
- increased appetite
- nervousness, anxiety and irritability
- tremor - usually a fine trembling in hands and fingers
- sweating
- changes in menstrual patterns
- increased sensitivity to heat
- changes in bowl patterns
- enlarged thyroid/goiter
- fatigue/muscle weakness
- difficulty sleeping
- skin thinning
- fine, bittle hair
- Graves disease: protruding eyes, red or swollen eyes, excessive tearing/discomfort in one or btoh eyes, light sensitivity, blurry or double vision, inflammation or reduced eye movement
Hypothyroidism
- Obesity, joint pain, infertility and heart disease
- fatigue
- increased sensivity to cold
- constipation
- dry skin
- weight gain
- puffy face
- hoarseness
- muscle weakness
- elevated blood cholesterol
- muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness
- pain, stiffness or swelling in joints
- heavy/irregular periods
- thinning hair
- slowed heart rate
- depression
- impaired memory
