Upper Extremity Nerves Flashcards
The axilla nerve innervates which muscles?
Where does it originate from?
Deltoid, teres minor
Posterior cord of brachial plexus
The radial nerve innervates which muscles? Where does it originate from?
Muscles of the posterior compartment of the arm and forearm and receives sensory input from these regions as well as the dorsolateral surface of the hand.
It originates from the posterior cord of the brachial plexus.
Ulnar from the ___ cord and median from the _____ and ____ cords have no innervation in the arm but pass through on the way to the forearm and hand
Medial
Medial and lateral
The musculocutaneous nerve innervates which muscles? Where does it originate from?
Muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm. It then becomes cutaneous to receive sensory information from the lateral forearm (lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve)
-From the lateral cord of the brachial plexus
