it’s in your paperwork
What are the four compartments of the hand?
Thenar, hypothenar, central, adductor-interosseus
What three intrinsic muscles are in the thenar compartment
opponens pollicis, flexor pollicis brevis, abductor pollicis brevis
What three intrinsic muscles are in the hypothenar compartment?
opponens digiti minimi, flexor digiti minimi, abductor digiti minimi
What is in the central compartment of the hand?
Tendons of the long digital flexors plus the lumbrical muscles (1-4)
What is in the adductor-nterosseus compartment of the hand?
adductor pollicis and 7 interosseous muscles.
What innervates the thenar compartment muscles of the hand?
Recurrent branch of the medial nerve
What innervates the muscles of the hypothenar compartment?
Deep branch of the ulnar nerve
What innervates the contents of the Central compartment of the hand?
Lumbrical muscles 1 &2 are innervated by the anterior interosseous branch of median nerve
3&4 are innervated by deep ulnar nerve
opponens pollicis origin
Ridge of trapezium
opponens pollicis insertion

Recurrent branch of median
flexor pollicis brevis action
Flexes thumb at metacarpophalangeal joint
