Unnatural Talent Flashcards
What’s the only natural thing about talented people?
They use their natural human ability to adapt. They place themselves beyond their current capacity, and they practise outside of their comfort zone until their body affairs. That’s how they get better and better and eventually reach the top.
Why should I never dismiss someone’s success due to some magical ‘natural talent’, that they were both with it and I wasn’t?
Doing so, I cut my own throat. I would have eliminated myself from the game. STOP IT!
Take my life in my own hands. Being the best is my responsibility.
We are authors of our stories. What privilege does this provide?
The ability to create. Why would I write a lousy story? Why don’t I write a great one? A story about the best.
Why do most people not become the best?
They are not willing and scared to demand the best of themselves 100% of the time.
Who are the animals that survive long term?
Not the smartest or biggest.
It’s the ones who can adapt the fastest.
What is true hard work?
Focused, quality, rewarding effort and time that I put into moving myself closer to my dream.
Why should I never have an excuse for failure, even if it is unjust?
To become a better player I must keep trying and fighting for what I want. I must not let excuses, even unfairness, get in the way as that slows me down.

You have to be humble. You have the ability not to be humble as you are so invested in being the best at everything.
Why must I go into an environment where everyone is better than me and I am challenged more?
I can go into an environment like that and either crumble or get better every time I play.
Thing that worked previously don’t work anymore; the players are smarter, faster, singer. Being with them accelerates my game.
