What is corrosion?

A

Corrosion is brought by wet weather whereas oxidation is the reaction with oxygen. Corroded metals became weaker over time.

A

When iron or steel reacts with oxygen and water to produce a soft brown flaky substance.

A

There has to be air and water. Oil prevents rusting as it stops the air and water making contact. Hense things like bike chains being oiled.
