What is the Civil War about?
The Civil War is about the issue of slavery and states rights.As southern States did not want to leave slavery behind in the new states.
Why did southern colonies not want to leave behind slavery.
Southern States did not want to leave slavery behind as it was very crucial towards their economy.As they relied in enslaved people to pick cotton and make production of it.
What did the northern colonies think about slavery?
Northern Colonies mainly opposed slavery because they viewed it as morally wrong.This perspective eventually led to abolition of slavery in the northern states and a help to not prevent expansion into new states or territories.
What led to the abolition of slavery?
When slavery was abolished the current president at the time was Abraham Lincoln.He opposed slavery and did many things for it to be abolished such as the signing the 13th Amendment, and issuing the Emancipation Proclamation.
What did the Emancipation Proclamation and 13th Amendment do?
The Emancipation Proclamation declared that all persons held slaves were to be free.And the 13th Amendment was the amendment to formally abolish slavery.
