What is the Constitution about?
The Constitution is about establishing the 7 principles of the constitution and guaranteeing the Fundamental Rights and Liberties through the Bill of Rights.
What are the 7 Principles of the Constitution?
- (Popular Sovereignty) Government’s Power comes from the people meaning people are final authority.2.(Republicanism)People elect their representatives.3.(Federalism)Power divided by federal and states government.4.(Separation of Powers)Government divided into three branches.5.(Checks and Balances)Each Branch Government has power to limit each other.6.(Limited Government)Government power is limited by the constitution must obey the law.7.(Individual Rights)The constitution protects rights off all citizens.
What is The Bill of Rights?
The Bill of Rights are the First Ten Amendments of the U.S Constitution ratified in 1791.Declaring legal and civil rights to all citizens. For example Amendment 1 and 2 Freedom of speech, religion,press, assembly, and petition.And Right to Bear Arms.
What was used before the Constitution?
The Articles of Confederation was used but it established a weak central government meaning they couldn’t regulate trade,collect Taxes, or even enforce laws.This led it to failing and create a Constitutional Convention to make a stronger government.
What is the Constitutional Convention?
It was made to strengthen the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation which resulted to the draft of the new Constitution.Which made a more effective national government.
