Military-Industrial Complex
The informal alliance between the government and large defense contractors who President Eisenhower warned not to let grow too powerful
Why did WWII lay the “foundation” for anti colonial movements around the world?
The idea of self-determination grew, WWII had weakened colonial powers so they couldn’t resist revolts as well, and the Cold War gave colonies powers they could recruit to their sides to support them
How technological and economical developments during WWII led to the US becoming a superpower
Development of technology like nukes meant they were safe from other nations due to Mutually Assured Destruction and the U.S. hadn’t suffered as many losses or damage since they weren’t in Europe and hadn’t entered the war until towards the end. New Deal (Roosevelt) during the GD and supply Britain before WWII put them in a good place with countries having to pay them back resources and such leading to them becoming a superpower.
Self-Determination
The idea that each country should choose its own form of government and leaders
