Status Eilepticus
Grave condition. There is rapid, unrelenting series of convulsive seizures without intervening periods of consciousness, and an absence of respiration.
Decerebrate Posturing
(Extensor) Damage to midbrain or brain stem Injury.
The arm are stiffly extended and held close to the body and the wrist are flexed outward. Plantar flexion.
Decorticatie Posturing
(Flexor) Cortex Injury
Extension of the leg with internal rotation, arms adduction and elbows bend upward.

This refers to a set of signs that are indicative of increased intracranial pressure (ICP). Consists of bradycardia, irregular resps
CT Scan
A computerized tomography scan that uses computers and x-ray machine to create cross sectional images of the body.
EEG
Electroencephalogram
It tests that detects electrical activity in you brain using small metal discs attached to your scalp.
Flaccid
Lack of firmness of the muscles in the body. Not firm or stiff.
Intracranial Pressure
ICP
A brain injury that causes growing pressure inside your skull.
Lethargic
Condition marked by drowsiness, lack of mental alertness energy.
Log Rolling
Is a maneuver used to move a patient without flexing the spinal column. The patients legs are stretched, the head is held to immobilize the neck.
Lumbar Puncture
Test performed to the lower back. During the procedure a needle is inserted into to lumbar vertebrae to remove a sample of cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid surrounds your brain and spinal cord that protects against injury.
