Q

Check-in with Front Desk Staff

A

Before every class, check in with the front desk to stay connected to the studio team, get updates on class schedules and capacity, and get important member info, like First Visit Members. Use this checklist to ensure you don’t miss anything. Establishing rapport with studio staff during check-ins makes communication easier and creates a cohesive member experience.

Regularly checking in with the front desk staff before class keeps you informed, connected, and prepared, ensuring a seamless and positive member experience.

Q

Review Station Assignment Sheets

A

When members check-in for class, they’re assigned a station using the Station Assignment Sheet. This ensures everyone has their own spot and keeps things flowing smoothly during class. Helping out at
the front desk and with the Sheet is a good way to get to know your members’ names. Plus, it gives you the chance to help set-up members who choose to use the bike or strider.

Once all members are signed up, the front desk staff is responsible for bringing the Station Assignment Sheet into the studio and placing it on the Coach’s station. This can be a great tool to use during class to remember members’ names.

Q

A

Ask members to share with you any exercise restrictions they may have (injuries, illness, etc)
Encourage members to communicate any concerns or restrictions during class rather than in the lobby. This allows for personalized support without any potential embarrassment or delays in starting the workout.

Q

Set-Up Coaching Volley

A

Similar to the Warm-Up, the Set-Up is a back-and-forth coaching volley between the different groups. Timing is critical for keeping class moving. Knowing your Template and the elements of the Set-Up will ensure you can say everything in the time allotted for the different Set-Ups throughout class. You will
coach a Set-Up in every 2G, 3G, and Lift 45 class. However, the type of Set-Up you coach and how the
volley occurs will vary based on the class format and Template. Below are general guidelines for
coaching the Set-Up across class types.

19
Q

rower overview

A

At the start of every Set-Up you will provide an Overview – which includes 3 steps for
each Rower Block. The Overview is ONLY provided at the START of each Rower Block.

Provide total duration of the block
Provide the pattern of the block from the Rower Header
Provide the GOAL of the block

20
Q

rower forcast

A

When coaching a Rower Set-Up, you will ALWAYS include a Rower Forecast. Coaching a Rower Forecast will be dependent on the Template programming for the Block. If the Block includes intervals,
use the same steps as the treadmill to pair the efforts.

Pair the Efforts (if applicable)
● Identify the work & recovery effort(s)
Give Work Effort
● Base, Push, or All Out Effort
Describe feeling of Work Effort
● Focus on the metric focus used in the Warm-Up
Countdown (if it makes sense based on the Template programming)
● 3, 2, 1, Effort!

21
Q

sometimes rower demo

A

If the Rower Block includes exercises, then you’ll need to complete a Demo as part of the Set-Up. Because the exercises will not be shown on the VVA, you are required to complete a Full Demo for all of the exercises within the Rower Block. This means you will show and talk through the full execution of the exercises with the proper equipment.
