There are three key aspects to Lobby Life
Connect with Members: Engage in conversations and foster connections.
Check-in with Front Desk: Coordinate with the front desk staff for smooth operations.
Review Station Assignment Sheet: Assist with station sign-ups and get to know members’ names.
connect with members
Before class, spending time in the lobby is a great way to interact with members and foster a positive, welcoming atmosphere. Engaging with members builds the Orangetheory community and promotes connection, adherence, motivation, and a strong sense of community.
Use the tips listed above to effectively connect with members. Above all, be yourself and create an inviting atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. These practices will foster connections and enhance the overall experience for
Check-in with Front Desk Staff
Before every class, check in with the front desk to stay connected to the studio team, get updates on class schedules and capacity, and get important member info, like First Visit Members. Use this checklist to ensure you don’t miss anything. Establishing rapport with studio staff during check-ins makes communication easier and creates a cohesive member experience.
Regularly checking in with the front desk staff before class keeps you informed, connected, and prepared, ensuring a seamless and positive member experience.
Review Station Assignment Sheets
When members check-in for class, they’re assigned a station using the Station Assignment Sheet. This ensures everyone has their own spot and keeps things flowing smoothly during class. Helping out at
the front desk and with the Sheet is a good way to get to know your members’ names. Plus, it gives you the chance to help set-up members who choose to use the bike or strider.
Once all members are signed up, the front desk staff is responsible for bringing the Station Assignment Sheet into the studio and placing it on the Coach’s station. This can be a great tool to use during class to remember members’ names.

You will coach a Set-Up multiple times during class.
The initial Set-Up is always coached immediately after the Warm-Up
Set-Ups always occur after any Full Class Transition
Set-Ups may be coached between blocks within a segment when no Full Class Transition occurs
Set-Up Coaching Volley
Similar to the Warm-Up, the Set-Up is a back-and-forth coaching volley between the different groups. Timing is critical for keeping class moving. Knowing your Template and the elements of the Set-Up will ensure you can say everything in the time allotted for the different Set-Ups throughout class. You will
coach a Set-Up in every 2G, 3G, and Lift 45 class. However, the type of Set-Up you coach and how the
volley occurs will vary based on the class format and Template. Below are general guidelines for
coaching the Set-Up across class types.
