What does flow production mean
This involves the continuous production each item move continuously from one stage of the process to another

Producing one off items that are made pacifically for their customers
Advantages of flow production
It allows firms to produce a hugely volume of output and therefore enables them to sell in large numbers
It allows for specialisation. This means the process is broken down into series of stages and individual specialise in each one by specialising individuals come become more efficient at what they do through repetition
What I did disadvantages of flow production
The initial costs are high open doctrine lines and cost millions of pounds and the business may not be able to afford this
It is risky business is need to invest a lot of money to be able to produce on a large scale the danger is that the mum before and that expensive equipment will not be used efficiently
Where it may lack flexibility I flow process can produce millions of item but these are all fairly similar
Specialisation division of labour can lead to boredom and dissatisfaction employees may tire of doing the same limited number of task I may leave the business
What is a lean production
This technique aims to reduce the amount of waste in a business waste is inefficient if a business can reduce ways it can reduce costs
What is just-in-time production
This means producing to order the business only makes an item when there is a cost on the phone with this reduces the waves caused by throwing unwanted items away and also means the business should not hold any stocks
