What are Cleveland type brakes?

A

Disk is stationary in place, fixed
Caliper moves, pucks grip on both sides of the disk
Double sided caliper, one piston
C for Cleveland (caliper looks like a C)

What are Goodyear type brakes?

A

Disk is floating
Two pistons that compress the disk at the same time
Pressure plates behind the pucks
Piston head inside cylinder housing

How do multiple disk brakes work?

A

Carrier assembly (self adjusting pistons) press against pressure plate and compresses rotor and stator assembly
