Attitudes 3 types
Judgements- conditions, outcomes, behaviours
Explicit- something you are aware of- conscious, outspoken
Implicit- not aware of having- unconscious, physiological, cognitive bias
Internal attribution
internal locus of control, you think you can control everything
- personality, disposition, effort, talent
External attribution
- someone who thinks they have no impact on the world
-family income, economy, others, destiny
Self-serving bias
filter in the good filter out the bad
-internalize success, externalize failure

Attributing others
tendency to make an error
Fundamental attribution error- when something goes wrong for you its cause of life circumstances, when something goes wrong for someone else you blame them
internalize others, externalize ourself
Group Cohesiveness
support, bonding, identity, similarity, behavioural homophily- like the same behaviours as others
Groupthink
people share same perspective to such a degree that now they are limited. shared perspective, consensus, lack of dissent
Conformity
linked with bystander effect, going with a group, challenges cognitive dissonance
Prejudice
how you prejudge them before you’ve gotten information
In group perception- nuance, individuality, exceptions
Out group perception- don’t belong to a group and all you have to go on is generalities- stereotypes
others and othering- religion, ethnicities, income, countries
Xenophobia- uncomfortable about the unknown, defence mechanism

outgroup perception- believe stereotypes until we become aware of them.
