Unit 1: pos/neg of data processes Flashcards
kite diagrams
Pos: changes over distance allowing easy comparison, visually clear which gives easier comprehension
Neg: time consuming by hand, visually subjective - biased,
logarithmic graphs
Pos: shows large range of data, can see lots of data with smaller value - more info can be added
Neg: small values are not always clear - skews data, can be difficult to plot values accurate
system diagrams
Pos: clear 3D representation of data, visualises key data - both allow easy comprehend ability
Neg:
polar graphs
Pos: patterns are easily identifiable, data is easy to compare so more can be added, good for directional data
Neg: only used for limited types of data, hard to spot anomaly’s, numbers won’t always be specific
triangular graphs
Pos: displays large amount of data, uses clear plots on graph paper
Neg: confusing to draw
dispersion graphs
Pos: easy to understand, anomalies are easily identified, can be compared to other dispersion graphs
Neg: data must be in a form that goes on the number line, needs lots of data to make
bipolar analysis
Pos: can fit large data on small space, patters easily identifiable - good for data analysis
Neg: results are based on people’s perceptions so could be biased - not always 100% accurate, have to have multiple data on same place to show differences/similarities
