UNIT 1 Flashcards
What is a component of Physical Fitness ?
Aerobic Endurance Muscular Endurance Flexibility Speed Muscular Strength Body Composition
What is Aerobic Endurance ?
It is ability of the cardio-respiratory system to work efficiently, supplying nutrients and oxygen to working muscles during physical activity for example, A runner will need this for a sprint
What is Muscular Endurance ?
Is when the ability of the muscular system to work efficiently, where a muscle can continue over a period of time .
What is Flexibility ?
Adequate range of motion in all the joints in the body , fluidly through its range of movement whereas a gymnastic has this to stretch
What is Speed ?
Distance divided by time taken.speed can be measured in metres per seconds (m/s) the faster the athlete runs ,the greater their speed in the run and also a footballer has this as they have the ability to run at defenders
What is Muscular Speed ?
The maximum force that can be generated by a muscle group. Also an footballer has this as to hold the ball up and shrug the attacker off the ball .
What is Body Composition ?
it is an relative ratio of fat mass ( vital organs ,muscle ,bone) in the body.
What is a Component of Skill Fitness ?
Agility Balance Coordination Power Reaction Time
What is Agility ?
Is the agility of a sports performer to quickly for example a footballer to precisely move or change direction without losing the ball or balance
What is Balance ?
Ability to maintain centre of mass over a base of support
What is Co- ordination ?
Smooth flow of movement needed to perform a task efficiently and accurately
What is Power ?
Power is speed x strength expressed as jumping high and running fast in races
What is Reaction Time ?
Time taken for a sports performer to respond to a stimulus and their response
What is Two types of Balance ?
Static balance and dynamics balance where a gymnast use static balance while performing a head stand and dynamic balance to perform the cartwheel
What is the three types of Speed ?
Accelerative speed up to 30 metres
Pure speed sprints up to 60 metres
Speed Endurance sprints with Short Recovery
