Principle of Training Flashcards
Define F.I.T.T
Frequency
Intensity
Time
Type
Frequency
How often an athlete trains over a period of time usually 5 times a week for a professional footballer would need as the athlete becomes fitter this may increase
Intensity
How hard someone trains, whatever the type of training it must be carried out at a worthwhile level of intensity As the athlete becomes fitter this will increase
Time
How long each training session must last in order to be any benefit,As the athlete becomes fitter this will increase
Type
Means he methods of training chosen to achieve persons particular goals . Athletes may wish to improve a component of fitness so they will pick a type of training to achieve this
Additional Principles of Training
Progressive Overload Reversibility Adaptation Individual Needs Rest and Recovery Specificity Variation
What is Progressive Overload mean ?
Progressive Overload Means gradually increase the amount of training without injury performing
What is Reversibility ?
Fitness levels changes all the time
What is Adaptation ?
This happens during your recovery by making your body move up your body get more use to Training
What is Individual Needs ?
Matching training requirements for an individual someone else pep will not work usually when a footballer gets injured there fitness programme will be different
What is Rest and Recovery ?
Rest is what a sport individual has time off and recovery is when off a period of time to repair muscles or an injury
What is Specificity ?
Specificity means match to requirements of an activity every time someones trains someone will need to improve the cardio-vascular system
What is variation ?
variation principle says that a football team will have a different regime for off training for what is required in the season changes in programme will effect the training
