-The term “pure malt” had no legal definition (like Small Batch in US)
-The term denoted quality and provenance & not necessarily origin
-term was used then the way “blended malt” or “vatted malt” is used today
-Cardhu Single Malt was pulled because they needed juice for Spain and JW blends
-Replaced it with Cardhu Pure Malt - competitors complained that this was an attempt to mis-lead consumers
-Cardhu Pure Malt was pulled from market
