What is the distillation process for Springbank?

A

Springbank is said to be 2.5x distilled.
The wash still runs as normal and all the alcoholic low wines passing into the first spirits still. Then the first spirits still is run as a wash still - that is all the alcoholic content - foreshots, middle cut, and feints are collected. There are separate foreshots and feints receivers. The second spirits still is then charged with 80% proceeds from the second distillation and 20% low wines directly from the wash still. The middle cut is taken into the spirits safe at 75% abv.
