Dr Bill says that these barrels are better for maturing the delicate spirit at Glenmorangie. He says sherry casks would overpower all that delicate flavor… which is why he only uses sherry casks for finishing.

The Lighthouse is equipped with a one ton mash tun, but there is also a mash conversion vessel that can handle more complex mash bills.
Two 5,000 liter wash backs and one pair of stills.
The spirits still has a water jackets that can “double the height of the still” if cool water is run through them, or condense the still height by half if steam is run through it.
It is also equipped with both copper and steel condensers.
