Equine Nigropallidal Encephalomalacia! - chewing disease, can’t swallow
What do macadamia nuts do?
Unknown toxin causes GI irritation and CNS depression but goes away within 48 hours
What signs with molybdenum toxicosis?
Signs of copper deficiency - depigmentation, demyelination, osteoporosis
Where can you get too much copper from and what does it do?
Clovers! Liver damage and hemolysis
What plants have selenium?
Aster, woody aster, princess plume, milk vetch, golden wood, paintbrush, saltbush
What does selenium do in pigs?
Swine symmetric polioencephalomalacia
What does chronic selenium cause?
Hoof and hair abnormalities
What does acute selenium toxicosis cause?
GI irritation and resp signs
