Explain the causation argument.
- Nothing happens by itself
- Everything that happens must be caused by something else
- The universe cannot have been caused by itself
- A powerful/ first cause was necessary to cause the universe
- This cause has to be God
- Therefore God exists
Explain the design argument
- Design is the result of intelligent thought
- The Universe shows us evidenced of being designed e.g. A waterfall
- This suggests that a being with intelligence must have designed the universe
- The universe is too complex to have happened by chance or be designed buy any other being than God
- Therefore God exists
Give 4 evidence in non belief in life after death
- There is no scientific evidence in life after death. Mediums can trick people.
- Science explains everything in our world and we should not believe in things unscientific
- Humans are mortal and decay
- Religion offers us no evidence of an afterlife
Give 3 beliefs in life after death
- Near death experiences- when you leave your body and can see dead relatives/ a bright light
- Paranormal activity like ghosts and mediums
- Reincarnation- the belief that a persons souls is reborn into a new body
Give 3 scientific explanations about the origins of the world
- The Big Bang- an enormous explosion that started the universe 15 billion years ago
- Evolution- Darwins theory that prices evolve over millions of years
- Natural selection- the way in which species naturally select the best characteristics for the best chance of survival
Christian responses to scientific explanations
- The bibles description of the creation of the world is more of a story
- The six days of creation were stages not actual periods of time
- Science explains how the world came to exist and the bible explains why

- They may accept that God hears and answers prayers but not in the way they hope or expect. They don’t fully understand but continue to follow him
- They feel God is not listening to them
