U1 day 3 Flashcards
Connective tissue contains
dermis, superficial fascia, deep fascia
superficial fascia
mostly fat and H2O, provides route for vessels and nerves to and from skin, protection and thermal additive
Deep fascia
wrapping called epimysium around muscle groups, compartmentalizes areas of muscle
Fascia latae
deep fascia in thigh, special due to its extensive wrapping
muscle attachment
origin and insertion of where muscle attaches to bone
when does action of a muscle happen
when muscle is shortened, flexion or etension
innervation
what nerves cause the motor movement in the muscles
Gluteus maximus
A: posterior sacrum/ilium
B: gluteal tuberosity (post. femur)
ax: hip extension
fnx: prevent hip flection while walking
inn: inferior gluteal nerve
Tensor fascia latae
A: Anterior ilium
B: iliotibial tract
ax: hip flection and abduction
inn. superior gluteal nerve
Lesser gluteal (medias and minimums)
A: lateral ilium
B: lateral femur
ax: hip abduction
fnx: prevent adduction of hip
inn: superior gluteal nerve
Hip Intrinsics (PSOIQ)
A: posterior sacrum/ischium
B: post. femur
ax: lateral rotation
fnx: proprioception (space awareness) (on test)
inn: sacral spinal nerves
