What is a Non-Participant observation?
A
Where the researcher does not join in with the activity being observed such as in Bandura

What is a Participant observation?
A
- Where the observer is also a participant in the activity being studied
- Can be useful as it provides more insight into the behaviour but the observer may loose some objectivity
- Dibs is an example

- Where the participants are aware they are being studied
- Ofsted

A
- Where the participants are not fully aware they are being studied
- the researchers may use one way mirrors to ensure they are not aware they are being studied
