Define positive feedback
Information about what was good in the performance, provides motivation for the performer to maintain their effort, generally better for beginners
Define negative feedback
Information about what was going wrong or was incorrect, which allows for the error to be corrected, generally better for advanced perfomers
Define extrinsic feedback
Feedback that is external to the performer from a coach or someone watching (MKO)
Define intrinsic feedback
Feedback that is internal to the performer, they develop a feel for the task and therefore can tell if they hit a bad shot or incorrect motion
Define knowledge of results
The performer’s knowledge of the results of the skill for example did the skill work or not?
Define knowledge of performance
The performer’s knowledge of how the skill felt, the performer knows how the skill should feel and then decide if they performed it to feel how they expected
