A

Define negative transfer

A

The action of one skill hinders the learning of another skill, usually performed in a similar environment but with a different shape or action, for example a tennis shot is played using the arm to generate power where a squash shot uses the wrist to generate power however they are both performed in similar environments therefore confusion could occur

A

The learning of one skill has no effect on the learning of another skill because there is no similarity in the shape or form of the skill, for example a tennis serve and a free-kick in football

A

The learning of a skill is transferred across the body from one limb to another, for example a football pass could be learned on the players stronger foot to perfect the technique and the transferred to their weaker foot to learn
