MOA
Acarbose inhibits intestinal alpha glucosidases.
Delays digestion and absorption of starch and sucrose.
Has a small but significant effect on lowering glucose

Interferes with sucrose absorption (give glucose, not sucrose) for patients with hypo in those who are taking acarbose)
