Q

What are some patient contraindications for TXA?

A

Patients with an active Thromboembolic disease. Since TXA helps prevent blood clot breakdown, it can exacerbate already formed blood clots or create new clots in patients prone to clot formation

Q

Why would you not want to give TXA to a patient with Renal impairments?

A

Because renal impairments would cause the TXA to stay in the patient’s body longer than intended, possibly causing further complications involving blood clotting.
