What is a conveyance?

A

A conveyance is any equipment constructed or adapted for the carriage of a person or persons by land water or air. It does not include items constructed or built to carry items - eg mail bag trolley.

What needs to take place for an offence to be complete?

A

The person taking the conveyance needs to be not only sitting in but there has to be a degree of movement. The person must also know that consent has not been given for them to take the conveyance.

What defence is there to TWOC?

A

The person believes that they have the consent of the owner

Is it possible to attempt to TWOC a vehicle?

A

No it is summary only. More appropriate offences such as vehicle interference or tampering with a vehicle may apply. Theft may even be considered.
