Tutorial Flashcards
What does ATM + ATR do:
detect double strand breaks
What activates p53- ATM or ATR:
ATM
What does ATR do:
check damage -> chk1 + chk2 -> stop s/g2 -> does homologous recombination
Chk1 job:
stop cell cycle
PARP job:
fix single strand breaks by poly ADP ribose polymerase
Why inhibit PARP?
Stop it so no single strand repair after chemo + radiotherapy
Why is parp not enough to stop?
BRCA 2 -> makes BER
Drug PARP inhibitor:
Olaparib
Is cancer hetero/homogenous?
Heterogenous
Molecular heterogeneity:
> transcription profiles
Cellular heterogeneity:
> cells
Regional heterogeneity:
> regions
PD-L1 in cancer:
overexpressed
EFGR:
receptor in exon 18-21 -> RAS mutation -> constantly binding tyrosine kinase
How does EFGR adapt:
mutation threonine -> methionine (drug cant bind)
