What is tuberculosis
A kind of bacterium breathed into the lungs which reproduce in the lungs, tissues form fibrous and calcified nodules
What affect does it have on the lungs
Bacteria makes holes and causes cars inside alveoli
What are three symptoms
Very tired
Lose weight
Fever (high temperature)
How is TB spread
By coughing or sneezing
Why are there so many TB cases in South Africa
There are many cases of HIV in SA and people with HIV can’t fight the TB bacteria
How do you cure TB
You must finish your course of antibiotics until cured by test. If you do not finish your course stronger bacteria will produce and infect others with the more severe type
How do you prevent TB
Children must be vaccinated
Spit mucus into tissue
Cover mouth and nose when sneezing
